the big game
Monday 31st January saw our Year 7 v Year 8 Football Match taking place
The Y8 played our very enthusiastic Y7 today, in the Big Game....
The conditions were challenging, the sun was low, so low I think I have a little sunburn on my now rosy cheeks.
The game was played with a great deal of energy as all players were in high spirits. Everyone tried really hard to deal with the conditions of the sun and more so, the conditions of the pitch. I think our next investment has to be a roller, I'm sure that will take care of the humps and bumps, however the pitch did remind me of the hike I once took up Ben Nevis.
However, the more experienced (and slightly bigger Y8) did find it a really good exercise today and came away with a comfortable victory. Again, the Y7 showed real character right until the end, they had more grit and determination than that man nicknamed Rafael Nadal, and he's got so much grit, they use him in the winter.
Thank you to those who came out and supported the students, they really do appreciate this.
Thank you to our guest referee, his wages are in the post, cheers Liam, a fantastic job in the middle today, however their goal may have been offside, plus the sun was low, so I couldn't see much....
Thank you to Mr Rhymes also for organising the Y7
We have lots of fixtures coming up so I will keep you all informed.
Thank you all for your continued support with our students at STWA.
